Our Partners: Sightglass

For Sightglass Coffee, approaching coffee as a "hands-on" craft is integral not only to the product, but to their way of life.

Sightglass, named after the window in the roaster for checking on the beans, was founded by brothers Jerad and Justin Morrison in 2009 with a flagship cafe and roastery in San Francisco's SOMA district. Sightglass is very much a traditional, third-wave roaster in that they spend ample time at origin creating relationships with farms, and source complex, vibrant single-origin coffees.

They also like to create local partnerships at home as evidenced with their signature affagoto bar located on the second floor of the roastery. They partner with local chocolate and ice cream purveyors for help in creating delicious chocolate mochas and vanilla-spiced cold brews, a must try if you like coffee/ice cream concoctions!

When Joyride launched in the Bay Area back in 2014, Sightglass was one of our first roaster partners and concocted a blend perfect for our proprietary cold brewing method to make a kegged cold brew. Sightglass's Toketee blend is a Central and South American blend yielding sweet chocolatey flavors with some fruit notes adding just the right amount of depth.
